My journey with GAIN Credit
It all started here!
After my graduation, I joined the operations team in October 2009. Within a year, I was moved into the decision engine team – a stint which enabled me to broaden my horizons as I was promoted from a Developer to a Team Lead. During this time, I & my team worked closely with our colleagues in Risk Analytics. We provided them system-generated inputs regarding fraud management and model building.
My next career milestone arrived in 2015, when I got the stellar opportunity to take up a role which was closely linked to a major engineering-led initiative to build a next-generation platform. As part of the newly formed loan management user interface (UI) Team, I led a group with responsibility for creating loan modules through effective collaboration with other cross-functional colleagues in the company (mainly architects).
As I cut my teeth in the new role and honed my underwriting skills, I was assigned another key responsibility in 2017 – I became a core member of an internal SWAT Team (comprising senior stakeholders from our Risk, Product Management & Engineering Teams) 😊 A bit unlike the US marines who fight obstacles and neutralize enemies on ground, we were tasked with the objective of ensuring the resolution of all underwriting-related problems during a key change-focused initiative. And I am proud of the fact that we were able to deliver on all counts.
People often refer to the ‘years of experience’ and forget about the ‘experience in the years’ when they evaluate someone’s professional standing.
On this front, I feel great to have been part of GC – an organization which has given me opportunities to hone my skills in different disciplines, helping me add ‘true expertise’ to my credentials as a tenured employee.
Key people I work with
When you’ve been associated with an organization for 9 years, it becomes a second family for you. The relationships you develop at work play a key role in developing your traits and skills –as a person and as a professional.
Amruth Rajagopal, my current manager, has been a pillar of support for me.
Thanks to his belief in my capabilities, I’ve been able to deliver even more than what I was capable of. Anyone can praise and support you when you win, but the one who lifts you up when the chips are down truly matters. And that’s precisely where he stands out as a mentor and a true leader – someone who’s always willing to look out for you, when you need it the most.
Among other folks who’ve walked the path with me, I would like to put in a special word for Sriram – a friend at work and outside of it as well.
Apart from them, there are countless others who have helped me achieve success in the organization. I might not remember all their names, but I always wish the very best for them in my heart!
Why do I look forward to each day@GAIN Credit Group?
- I will most likely be dealing with a new challenge, which throws boredom outside the window.
- I will always get credit for the work that I do – nothing will go unnoticed!
- I’ll be getting a cab to the office, where I will have a decent spread of meals to choose from. I reach on time, my hunger pangs are taken care of, and I am all set to give my best.
- As I go through my workday, I will be dealing with people who are supportive and respectful in their interactions. Never will my judgment be put to question, nor will I be afraid of putting forth my clear opinion.
- When the day wraps up, I will have my time to my own – to do things that I love and attend to personal priorities which mean the world to me.
You might blame me for being biased, but that’s the truth.

Out-of-Office: My personal time
My mornings nowadays start ‘quite early’.
Being a diehard fan of Game of Thrones (GOT), I make it a point to get up at 6:30 AM (that’s when they release in India) to watch the latest episode.
While at work, I keep an eye on all cricket matches during the lunch break. Whether its India playing Australia or Namibia squaring up against Afghanistan, I just have to know – it’s a game I am truly passionate about!
When I am done with the day, I rush back home to meet my bundle of joy – Khadija Hana (which literally translates to ‘happiness’), my 4-year old daughter. I’ve been married to Benazir (or Bena, as I love to call her) for the last 7 years, a relationship which has never run out of steam ever since we met and fell in love!
So, that’s me.
A simple, friendly family guy who works hard to earn for his family. I am thankful to the almighty for having given me the opportunity to chart my story with GAIN Credit – to which I try and add a new chapter every day!
